{"id":1297,"date":"2006-08-04T20:44:15","date_gmt":"2006-08-04T20:44:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/the19thfloor.net\/?p=1297"},"modified":"2006-08-04T20:44:15","modified_gmt":"2006-08-04T20:44:15","slug":"oh_snap","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/the19thfloor.net\/?p=1297","title":{"rendered":"Oh, Snap!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Mike Nelson, former castaway on the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mst3kinfo.com\/\">Satellite of Love<\/a>, is now offering a new way for us to listen to him mock modern American cinema.&nbsp; His new site, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rifftrax.com\/\">RiffTrax<\/a>, offers commentary tracks for specific movies that users can listen to on an MP3 player while watching a DVD of the movie.&nbsp; The first two available tracks are for <i>Roadhouse<\/i> (a nuanced film celebrating the drunken misogynists of rural America) and <i>The Fifth Element<\/i> (award-winner of the Special Oscar for Most Incomprehensible Science Fiction Film Ever).<\/p>\n<p>My reaction to Nelson&#8217;s idea is mixed.
