I’ve lived here long enough that it’s becoming common for me to encounter people I know when I’m at this or that event. Maybe this is an experience that is unique to the inhabitants of mid-sized cities like Minneapolis. I don’t know if these accidental encounters occur with the same frequency in places like New York or Chicago. I ran into a friend at the Guthrie last night and we chatted during intermission about nothing in particular.
