I spent a lot of time in hospitals when I was a kid. I ate plenty of hospital food. And not once have I since thought to myself, “Gee, wouldn’t it be cool to eat in a hospital-themed restaurant where the food is served in flasks and I can be tied up in a straitjacket if I’m in the mood?” But a group of entrepreneurial physicians in Latvia have imagined just such an establishment called Hospitalis<\/a>, thus demonstrating that the free-market system is capable of turning just about any late-night bullshit session into a business plan. Judging from the photos, Hospitalis has kitsch appeal, but I’m not sure it will garner a lot of repeat business. <\/p>\n

And I do have to confess a certain fondness for the waitstaff’s outfits:
