I’m writing this at a internet cafe somewhere in the 6th arrondissement of Paris. My hotel wants me to sell my first born child to pay for internet access in my room. I was hoping to upload a few pictures but that will have to wait for now. There is a nice 6 inch drop that I have to go over every time I enter or leave the hotel. It is a good thing I’m already disabled, because I’m pretty sure I broke something. (nuts) Paris itself is a beautiful city with some very beautiful people living here. Tomorrow, I plan on visiting Sacre Coeur and the surrounding area. Hopefully, I will be able to post again this week before I leave for Berlin. For now, I’m going to sign off because this weird ass french keyboard is driving me nuts. Be assured I’m doing well and I have not been arrested for anything…yet. A toute a l’heure.

  1. Sacre Coeur? I’m totally in awe of you. Good luck! Be sure to report on it. Congrats on the lack of police record (so far).

  2. If you go to scare couer, go around the back, i think the path is flat, and there you will find a little local park full of local parisians having lunch and playing like they do in local parks. Its a memorable addition to the tourist stuff. enjoy.

  3. Mark: This is Dad. Glad everything is going well. We are in St Paul this week and staying of course at your apartment. Mother cleaned it up quit a bit; It was really a mess when we arrived. But I guess you were in a hurry to leave!! Keep us up to date as far as how everything is going. We were a little worried earlier this week that we didn’t hear from you. But Crystal told us you arrived safely and are having a good time. That’s great!! Call us when you get to Berlin. I know Scott is looking forward to seeing you. Have fun!!
    Love,
    Dad

  4. I am looking forwrd to your pictures. How’s your French? Are you getting enough attention to be able to navigate with all the help you need? What conveyance are you using? We hope to follow in your tracks so we want to know how you are making those tracks. Thanks for sharing your experiences. A little vicarious travel might be just what I need to propel me on to my own adventures with my family.

  5. Dear Marc!
Great, that you managed all this: flying over the ocean, visiting by wheel chair all these famous places in Paris: did the same (without w.ch. :-), 🙁 ?

Whish you all the necessary luck, you need for this trip.
I send you a verse of the bible, which is choosen for this day. It is in German and quite mysterious.
Perhaps your Mother can translate it for you:
Losung für Samstag, 10. September 2005:
Weh denen, die mit ihrem Plan verborgen sein wollen vor dem Herrn
und mit ihrem Tun im Finstern bleiben und sprechen:
“Wer sieht uns, und wer kennt uns?”
    Jesaja 29,15
    Es ist nichts verborgen,
    was nicht offenbar werden soll,
auch nichts geheim, was nicht bekannt werden
und an den Tag kommen soll.
    Lukas 8,17
    So far the verse.
